Beaulieu, which means Beautiful in French, also known as BV, started with a mere 4 acres back in May 1900, purchased by Georges and Fernande de Latour. One of the only wineries that remained open during prohibition, BV was the supplier for alter wine. Located in Rutherford, BV now owns vineyards Caneros, St. Helena and Calistoga, producing varietals such as Syrah, Sangiovese, Pinot Grig, Viognier, Cabernet and Pinot Noir.
